Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds soul gospel jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine was born Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church, where she sang as well as was a pianist. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in the Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan It has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become the mainstay of her live sets. She has also contributed her vocals on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She took on the role of primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) was approached for a position as director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition during her four daily performances at the Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
